"Baba gave me the black healing lingham in May, 1993 when my son went to India with a group of other young adults who were Sai devotees. I joined them later. Initially we were all at Whitefield, but later we went to Puttaparthi.
In Puttaparthi, at Prasanthi Nilayam, his main ashram, Baba called us in for an interview. First Baba looked at me and materialized some vibhuti. This trip was the 25th anniversary of my becoming a devotee of Sai Baba, so it had special meaning for me. He looked at me again and suddenly manifested the lingham and handed it to me. We were in a group and he said, "Put it in water. The water will heal people and I will send the patients." When I returned to America, a friend looked at it and noticed Baba's image in the lingham, which I immediately saw myself. There have been some healings from people drinking the lingham water, but the most striking relates to a Dr. X from Huntington Beach, California. He had a patient, not a Sai devotee, with metastasized lung cancer, which was verified by scans and other tests. This man drank the lingham water for about 10 days. When they opened him up to do surgery, there was not a trace of cancer. It was completely gone. They repeated the lab tests, scans and all, and couldn't find a trace of cancer.
